Sunset Kava is a small business rooted in connection, community and the traditions surrounding Kava. For this mural, I brought together elements connected to the ocean, the natural world and the symbolism the owner wanted to represent. The turtle speaks to longevity and good fortune, while fish and flowing forms create a sense of abundance and movement. Traditional-inspired patterns weave through the composition, connecting the imagery and giving the mural it`s distinctive visual language. Hidden within the design is another personal detail-the eye of an eagle, incorporated into the composition.

The result is artwork created specifically for the business: recognizable, personal and closely tied to the identity of the place.
